Pudsey Bear’s visit to Burnham helps raise £700 for Children In Need

-

A bid to raise thousands of pounds for Children in Need was given a boost at Burnham Holiday Village over the weekend.

Three days of fundraising in the town culminated with a fete at the Holiday Village on Sunday, where visitors were treated to fun and games with Pudsey Bear as well as meeting representatives from local emergency services.

Bourne Leisure has set a fundraising target of £200,000 for its 36 parks nationwide by the end of the year.

The Burnham centre’s target is £5,000, and it raised £700 over the three days, during which time Pudsey visited several schools in Burnham and Highbridge, Burnham Hospital, the High Street and the BARB hovercraft station.

Manager Mike Durrant told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a fantastic turnout on Sunday. There was loads going on and four emergency services turned up to support it, which was great. The total of £700 raised was fantastic.”
