Local protest to be held over the ‘undemocratic shut-down’ of Parliament

-

Residents from the Burnham-On-Sea area are being invited by trades union leaders to join a local demonstration today (Monday, September 2nd) to protest the “undemocratic shut-down of Parliament”.

Local trades union leaders have organised the ‘peaceful protest’ in Bridgwater.

Dave Chapple, secretary of Bridgwater Trades Union Congress, said: “Bridgwater will swell the number of demonstrations being organised across the country to protest at the undemocratic shut-down of Parliament threatened by un-elected Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.”

“The demonstration will start at 3pm at the Cornhill and will be followed by a march through town to the offices of MP Ian Liddell-Grainger.”

“Protestors are calling upon MPs to defend our democratic constitution and ensure Johnson does not succeed. People of all political persuasions should be united in opposition to this attack on our political system.”
