National Grid has announced that it will be holding a series of events immediately following the announcement on 6th November of its draft route for the proposed connection.
The announcement will show where within the route corridor we propose to build the connection and what land might be affected.
As part of its ongoing commitment to consultation, National Grid will notify everyone with land that is affected by the draft route as soon as the announcement is made.
On the morning of 6th November everyone who owns or occupies land that the proposals cross will be sent a plan showing how the draft route affects their land, and they will be invited to meet National Grid at special events for owners, occupiers and their agents being held between 8th November and 14th November.
In September 2011 National Grid announced the preferred route corridor for the proposed Hinkley Point C Connection Project. Since then, National Grid has carried out consultation with local communities and organisations such as local authorities, the Environment Agency and specialist environmental bodies to help assess all the options for building the connection.
National Grid senior project manager, Peter Bryant, said this week: “This is a key stage of the connection project. We have worked hard to achieve the best available options for all of the parties involved and will be sparing no effort in the coming weeks to make sure that affected landowners, as well as the wider public, are fully informed and consulted about the draft route. We are particularly grateful to the many landowners in the corridor who have allowed us onto their land to carry out important survey work.”
