Dozens without power in Burnham-On-Sea after sub-station fault

-

Dozens of homes in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea were without power for over two hours on Saturday (January 6th) following a fault at a sub-station.

A total of 38 homes and shops in the Cross Street, Esplanade and College Street areas were without power from 11.58am until 2.30pm.

A spokesman for Western Power Distribution told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a low voltage problem in the centre of Burnham after a fuse blew at our Chapel Street sub-station.”

The outage blacked out Burnham-On-Sea.com’s seafront Webcam and also left the GC Music store in College Street in the dark, in addition to homes in the area.
