A fire crew rushed to the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday evening (May 3rd) to investigate a sighting of smoke rising above the town’s post office.
One fire engine was called to Vicarage Street, as pictured, at around 4.30pm after a nearby resident alerted emergency services after spotting smoke rising near the property.
The fire crew gained access to the scaffolding around the exterior of the building, as pictured below, but found no sign of a blaze and concluded that the incident had been a false alarm with good intent.
