A new £1.9million swimming complex was opened in Burnham-On-Sea on Friday (March 28th) by the town’s Mayor.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the opening of the new facilities at Burnham Holiday Village.
Mayor Martin Cox led the grand opening alongside the park’s General Manager John Ryan.
John told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve expanded our existing pool by 50%, creating a much larger swimming area with upgraded slides, a new children’s splash area, a fitness lane and added fun water features.”
“We’re really thrilled to see it open – the facilities are a great addition to our park and demonstrate Haven’s confidence in Burnham.”
“The new facilities enhance the experience for holidaymakers and our owners. We are also offering day passes for local residents at £5 each.”
Cllr Cox told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s great to see this level of investment in Burnham and I’m pleased to see these super modern facilities opening in the town.”
Burnham’s World BMX Champion Liam Phillips and Highbridge Paralympic swimmer Anthony Stephens – who had initially been due to attend the opening – were unavailable due to late changes in their schedules.
