The first phase of a new £1.65m swimming pool complex opened in Brean, near Burnham-On-Sea, on Wednesday (May 25th).
Brean Splash features a six-lane heated 25m swimming pool, a children’s indoor splash park area and a cafe.
The facilities, at Brean Leisure Park, incorporate the existing water slides and river rapids.
The new waterpark is open to both holiday guests and local residents, and a range of swimming lessons will also be available shortly.
Brean Leisure Park’s owner, Richard House, who is pictured taking the first dip with his family, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is an exciting new addition to the leisure park.”
“It is sure to be popular with holidaymakers and residents alike.”
The waterpark will create an additional ten new jobs, as recently reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com here.
The second phase of the pool’s expansion will include a new wave pool – incorporating a surfing area and a new slide tower – which is expected to open in 2013.
