Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackled a big blaze at Pontins holiday camp in Brean during the early hours of Monday (January 22nd).
Four fire engines – two from Burnham and two from Weston – along with supporting appliances from Bridgwater and Street were called to tackle the blaze at 12.12am.
“The fire involved a block of four chalets, which also spread to a single chalet in a neighbouring block,” a fire brigade spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one main jet.”
“The block of four chalets was severely damaged by fire, heat and smoke. A single chalet in a neighbouring block was also damaged by heat.”
The spokesman added that the cause of the fire was not known and that investigations were continuing. There were no casualties.
