School pupils thank Burnham-On-Sea police after road safety lessons

-

Pupils at a Highbridge School have thanked police for giving them safety tips during UK Road Safety Week by sending them over 25 thank you cards!

PCSOs Gill Bawler and Claire Chambers held a series of safety lessons at St John’s School, giving road safety tips including the Green Cross Code, cycle safety and in-car safety, which were backed up with small plays.

The pupils also got involved in an interactive game aimed at making them aware of how much concentration is needed on the roads.

PCSO Gill Bawler told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were thrilled to receive thank you cards from St Johns.”

“The pupils had obviously put a lot of effort into them as they contained loads of facts relating to our road safety input.”

She added: “Our Inspector, Roger Tolley, was really impressed with them and has put them on display in the police station.”
