Burnham-On-Sea police set to hold free property-marking session

-

Residents in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge will get another chance to deter thieves and get their property marked this weekend.

On Saturday, January 20th, Burnham-On-Sea Library is hosting the latest in a series of property marking days between 9.30am and 1pm.

Police are particularly keen to mark smaller items such as mobile phones or iPods which people may have received as Christmas gifts.

Another property marking day will be held at the library on Thursday January 25th between 9.30am and 3pm.

Community Beat Manager PC Adrian Jones and Police Community Support Officer Pauline Dixon are running the events when property marking packs for larger items can also be given out free of charge.

PC Jones said: “There is great benefit in using this free service. If your property is stolen, there is a much greater chance of it being returned to you.”

“There must be many Christmas presents in the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area which haven’t been property marked and we would encourage people to come along and do everything possible to deter a thief.”

Also, Burnham Community Centre is holding PC Jones and PCSO Dixon’s monthly beat surgery. The surgeries will be held on the first Thursday of every month, starting on Thursday February 1st.
