Police issue E-fit image of man amid ongoing New Year’s Day rape investigation

Police have issued an appeal for people in the Burnham-On-Sea area to come forward if they recognise this E-fit of a man they want to speak to following the rape of a woman in Bridgwater.

The incident happened in Bridgwater town centre, close to the Malt Shovel pub in Wembdon Road, between 4.45am and 5.20am on January 1st.

Officers previously released CCTV and a still of the man in the E-fit, who was seen in the area around the time of the assault, but are yet to identify him.

The man is described as aged in his late 30s or early 40s, with a bald or shaved head. He wore jeans and a large white hooded jacket.
