Police helicopter searches town after Burnham-On-Sea assault

A police helicopter hovered over Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday (June 24th) as officers investigated an alleged serious assault.

Several police cars were seen in the the Frank Foley Parkway near Burnham’s Tesco store following the incident.

Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of an assault at about 11am this morning in the Frank Foley Parkway area of Burnham.”

“Officers were involved in a search for the suspect and a police helicopter assisted in the search.”

Several residents along the Frank Foley Parkway told Burnham-On-Sea.com they saw police swoop on the area after the incident, followed soon after by the helicopter, which spent several hours searching the town, as pictured here.

Anyone who saw the incident or has information that could help the investigation should call Burnham Police on 101.
