Police helicopter flies into Burnham area during early morning arrest of ‘drug driver’

A Police helicopter hovered low over the Burnham-On-Sea area during the early hours of Thursday morning (October 28th) as officers investigated a suspected drug-driving offence.

A Police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We arrested a 28-year-old male in Warren Road, Brean, in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs (class B).”

“He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle without insurance too.”

The National Police Air Service helicopter was heard by residents in the area hovering low over Burnham-On-Sea and the nearby area around 1am.

Police said the man has since been released under investigation and enquiries continue.
