Burnham-On-Sea police have warned residents in the town to be on their guard after money was stolen in a distraction burglary.
Burnham-On-Sea.com learns the incident took place between 2-3pm in Stoddens Road (pictured) on Monday afternoon, April 24th.
“Several callers visited the house. They claimed to be working nearby and asked if the owner could turn a tap on for them,” said police spokesman Ian Jury.
“It was during this time that we believe the offence took place, as the resident later realised that a quantity of cash had been stolen.”
“We would ask residents to be on their guard and only let people into their house whom they know are bona fide.”
