Armed raiders strike again at Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store
Police in Burnham-On-Sea are appealing for witnesses and information after an armed robbery at the town’s Tesco store on Love Lane.
At 2.15pm on Monday, November 21, 2005, a Securicor guard was transferring cash from the store to his nearby van when he was confronted by three masked men carrying knives.
He was then struck over the head and forced to hand over a bag containing a large amount of cash, although he was not seriously injured.
All three men then made off in a black Ford Galaxy car which was later discovered at nearby Stoddens Lane in Burnham.
Police enquiries have revealed that the Galaxy was stolen during a burglary in Clevedon on Thursday, November 17.
The incident comes just five weeks after a seperate armed raid at the store on October 11th when a significant sum of money was stolen from Securicor guards as they delivered money at the side of the building. Police are currently not linking the robberies.
Police would like to speak to anyone who has any information about the raid or may know the offenders involved.
If you have any information about this incident, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. You do not have to give your name and could qualify for a reward.
