Woman killed in car accident is formally named by police

-

The 34-year-old woman who was killed in a road accident at Mark, near Burnham-On-Sea, last week was formally identified by police on Monday.

Natalie Cuthbertson of Mendip Road, Weston-super-Mare, was killed when her Rover 214 was involved in a crash (pictured right) on the Mark Causeway at 4.35pm last Thursday, as reported here.

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses and anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact the Somerset Collision Investigation Unit on 0845 4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

A male passenger in the car, who was taken by air ambulance to the RUH at Bath with serious injuries, is reported to be making progress. He underwent surgery at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol and his condition is improving.

The crash occurred after the car appeared to swerve to the nearside and left carriageway, colliding with a tree. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road policing unit’s collision investigation unit put out an appeal for witnesses and would particularly like to hear from the driver of a silver coloured car, which may have stopped to assist at the scene but left before police arrived.
