Burnham-On-Sea police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was the victim of a distraction theft at a supermarket in the town.
The victim was shopping in Tesco at Love Lane at about 2pm on Thursday, March 9th when she was approached by an unknown man.
He engaged her in conversation while a woman is believed to have stolen a purse from the victim’s handbag.
The man involved was white, aged in his 20s with a slim build, around 5ft 8ins tall with short hair which was bushy on top. He was wearing a navy blue jumper.
The woman he was working with was around 5ft 4ins tall with a medium build and had light coloured, short hair.
Police would like to speak to anyone who might have witnessed the theft or may know the offenders involved. Contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
