Police carried out house-to-house enquiries in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (February 9th) following an overnight break-in at a computer games shop in the town.
A forensics team was called to Insane Games in Cross Street after blood stains were found near to two windows that were smashed during the raid.
The break-in was believed to have taken place shortly before 4.30am on Thursday morning.
A spokesman who works at the shop told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Several game boxes were taken, but fortunately they were just empty display cases and nothing of any value was stolen.”
The shop was closed to customers for several hours, but opened for business later in the afternoon.
A poster in the shop’s window stated: “Sorry we will be closed today after an attempted break-in. No goods appear to be missing. However, due to broken glass and the fact that the thief left a nice blood sample, we will remain closed. Otherwise trading will resume as normal tomorrow.”
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
