Pole dancing showcase in Brean raises £2,700 for mental health support charity

-

An action-packed pole dancing evening held in Brean has raised over £2,700 for charity.

Local pole dancing fitness group Studio Essence organised its ninth annual charity showcase at The Beachcomber in Brean, with all funds raised going to MIND, the mental health support charity.

Studio Essence is a pole fitness and aerial hoop school based in Highbridge, and all the performers that participated are students or instructors from Studio Essence.

This year’s theme was ‘Studio Essence gets Noughty!’ with all the routines set to music of the noughts (2000-2009).  The age range of the performers on the night ranged from 18-54.
The showcase is a chance for the students of Studio Essence to show family and friends what they can do, as well as showing them what pole fitness is truly about.
Owner Sam Smith, told Burnham-On-Sea.com she is extremely proud of everyone involved, adding: “The students performed brilliantly, the audience who attended were incredibly supportive of all the performers on the night, and also extremely generous.”
“The students refer to themselves as a pole and hoop family, and it’s that all inclusiveness that we really promote. The students are so supportive of each other, inside and outside the studio.”

Sam added: “Studio Essence would like to thank The Beachcomber in Brean, who have been a massive supporter of our charity showcase events over the past few years and the event would not be possible without their help and support.”

The money generated was raised through tickets sales and a raffle on the night.
