There were celebrations in Highbridge on Tuesday (April 6th) when the town’s successful police pod marked its first year of operation.
Local police officers, members of the blood bikes team, a county councillor and Homes in Sedgemoor were just a few of the agencies who attended the celebratory party outside Highbridge’s Asda store.
Inspector Roger Tolley and Highbridge’s County Councillor John Woodman were joined by local residents and ‘PC Panda’ to mark the milestone on Tuesday afternoon, as pictured here.
Launched last April, the pod has had a successful year, providing information, advice and help on a range of subjects.
Visitors have made enquiries about their local Neighbourhood Watch Schemes, PACT meetings and local Dreamscheme events. Staff and residents have also been able to discuss Community SpeedWatch issues and officers have also been on hand to give advice on Crime Reduction.
PCSO Gill Bawler told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The beat team are absolutely thrilled with the positive impact the pod has had on our community and would like to thank the volunteers for all the hard work and dedication they have shown in helping us make the Pod a success.”
