Burnham-On-Sea residents will be invited to take part in a fundraising walk later this summer to raise funds for the town’s War Memorial Hospital.
On the expectation that Coronavirus restrictions will be lifted, the team at Burnham’s Ritz Social Club has announced plans for a fundraising Glastonbury to Burnham walk on Saturday 22nd August.
Organiser Mike Barsby told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Registration is now open for participants to take part in the sponsored walk to support ‘The Friends of Burnham Hospital’.”
“The main walk is approximately 20 miles, starting in Glastonbury, and will take in a scenic route mainly off-road and across the levels via Shapwick Nature Reserve and the peak of Brent Knoll.”
“For those that want to join in but don’t fancy the 20 miles there will be a shorter afternoon walk from Brent Knoll to Burnham as another option.”
“The finishing point will be the Ritz Social Club in Burnham where walkers will be able to celebrate their achievements with some welcome refreshments.”
“This event forms part of the Ritz Club’s commitment to raise at least £2,020 during 2020 for our local hospital friends group.”
