Residents have just a few days left to lodge their views on controversial plans for a wind farm on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea.
Energy firm Broadview wants to construct four 130-metre tall wind turbines – each as tall as Brent Knoll – on land at Pilrow Farm, south of Rooksbridge.
The deadline for online objections to the Pilrow Wind Farm is approaching, with Sedgemoor District Council’s planning website accepting comments up until 23rd August.
However, residents will also be able to submit their comments in writing right up until the morning that the council’s Development Control Committee makes its decision on the planning application.
David Maund, NoPilrow spokesman, said: “There would appear to be many comments relating to this planning application still in the pipeline and not yet displayed on the website since many people have reported sending in their comments weeks ago.”
“My wife and I posted our personal comments on 30th July, and received confirmation that they had been received on 1st August. However, two weeks later, we have yet to see them on the planning website.”
“Many people to whom I have spoken have reported a similar experience. We are in no doubt whatsoever that there are a large number of objections to the Pilrow Wind Farm in the pipeline.”
David concluded: “We urge everyone to object now before it’s too late! Do not rely on your neighbours or friends to object, as every voice in every household counts.”
