A ‘pie the teacher’ contest at Highbridge’s King Alfred School has helped to raise £400 for Amnesty International.
The school’s Year 8 students have taken part in a week of events organised by the Sixth Form Amnesty group that aimed to raise awareness of the charity.
“Amnesty-themed lessons were taught in various subjects and students produced a range of work based on the important work that the charity does,” the school’s Amy Withecombe told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
A variety of fundraising events took place, including a student and teacher dodgeball match and a cake sale.
“They were enjoyed by all students and together they raised around £400. A big thank you to everyone that took part and a special well done to the Sixth Form Amnesty group for organising the events,” she added.
