More than 16 sackfuls of rubbish were collected during the latest beach clean in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (June 1st).

Over 20 volunteers took part in the latest clean-up at the southern end of the town’s beach around the mouth of the River Brue, as pictured here.

Mark Hollidge from the Friends of Burnham Beach told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “After having to call off the last two beach cleans due to inclement weather, the sun shone brightly on our group!”

“We had over 20 enthusiasts removing whatever waste was along the estuary and we collected 16 bags, a car wheel and a couple of bread baskets.”

“Afterwards we enjoyed the refreshments in the sailing club clubhouse to close a satisfying morning.”
