Hundreds of model railway lovers flocked to King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge on Saturday (2nd November) when the 2019 Vintage Hornby Train Show was held.

Visitors of all ages enjoyed the 11th annual show, organised by the Bristol and Somerset Branch of the Hornby Railway Collectors’ Association.

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Andy Brewer and Town Crier Alisdair Murray were the special guests to open the show.

The Mayor told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Highbridge is a railway town and I’m keen to see that heritage and history maintained, so I’m really pleased to support events like this. It was great to see lots of visitors attending too.”

Steve Sand, organiser, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The show attracted a good number of visitors despite the poor weather. We had eight layouts and eight exhibitors on show so there was lots to see.”

Proceeds went to the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea War Memorial Hospital.
