St Joseph’s Nursery in Burnham-On-Sea is celebrating three decades of providing nursery education in the town.
The nursery, which is Part of St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, has held a gathering of the current Nursery Class with past and present staff this week to mark the occasion.
They included Teacher Hannah Lovibond-Stephens, Nursery Nurse Wendy Horsey and Assistants Hazel Fear and Lorraine Francis, and were joined by previous Class Teacher Pauline Busley, Nursey Nurse Mary-Anne Lynham, Assistant Michelle Lynton and Music Teacher Shirley Mills. Sadly missed was colleague Nadine Bailey who passed away recently.
Simon Kingwell, who was Headteacher when the Nursery was established, was unable to attend, but reminisced about how proud he was when the Nursery was founded as it was set up as a beacon of excellence with only 6 existing in the County.
“As part of the fun, the children and their families shared a tea party and entertainment was provided by circus skills teacher Hayley-Mai Edwards from the local Starlight Dance School,” says Hannah Lovibond-Stephens.
“The Nursery has supported many generations of families over the last 30 years and prepared many children for a great start in their education.”
The Nursery takes children from the age of 3 and takes two intakes in September and January.
