Spooky train rides were among the activities held in the Burnham-On-Sea area to mark Halloween on Thursday evening.

West Huntspill Model Railway in New Road, held its annual Halloween-themed evening with plenty of surprises on display for families daring to take a ride. It was once again very well supported with hundreds of families attending during the evening.

Keith and Jane Mitchell decorated their whole of their front garden in Burnham’s Winchester Road with a fright-filled display that was visited by scores of ‘trick or treaters’ and families. “We love putting on a display – it’s great to see how Halloween ha grown over the years,” said Keith.

Nearby resident Morag Croker, also in Winchester Road, decorated her whole front garden for a 26th year with a spooky display and handed out scores of goody bags. “I love Halloween and putting smiles on the childrens faces,” said Morag.

Meanwhile, in Ringstone, Chantelle Sear, the Chairperson of West Huntspill Primary School’s PTA, decorated the outside of her home and garden with a Halloween display that raised money for the school and an autism charity.

A successful Halloween party was held at the Dunstan House pub, attended by over 30 children in fun, scary costumes, as below.
