Festive cheer was in the air at Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Choral Society’s annual Christmas concert on Thursday night (14th December).
An audience of over 130 people watched the group’s performance in the Church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs in Highbridge Road, Burnham.
The society sang Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit including music from Bach, Mathias and other traditional festive music. They were also joined by Yarrow Brass.
The group’s Julie Skinner says: “There were over 130 people in the audience which was good – and we would like to thank all who supported us, plus the volunteers who helped with refreshments and the raffle.”
“Particular thanks go to the Catholic Church who always warmly welcome us and do their best to accommodate our needs.”
The society will start a new season of rehearsals on Thursday 4th January, 2024 at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall. They will be rehearsing Brahms Requiem ready for their Spring concert on Saturday 4th May, 2024. New members are always welcome.
