Nearly 100 athletes of all ages competed in Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Spring aquathlon and ‘splash and dash’ event on Sunday (March 24th).
The popular event, organised by Burnham Swim and Sports Academy, comprised of a 500 metre swim at Burnham Pool followed by a 5km run along the seafront for the adults while the children completed a shorter ‘splash and dash’ event on the town’s beach.
Organiser Sarah Cox Conklin told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had been another success and thanked all those who had turned out to support the event. “It was a wonderful morning of fast and friendly competition in the pool and on the run course,” she said.
