Local camera enthusiasts gathered together on Thursday night (January 31st) for the relaunch of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Photography Club.
Over 20 camera users – ranging from professional photographers to beginners – gathered at the BAY Centre (Burnham Area Youth centre) in Cassis Close to hear about the plans and objectives of the new group.
A new committee was chosen, pictured right, comprising of John Strickland (Chairman), Anne Marie Moran (Secretary), Les Hughes (Treasurer), and Nigel Masters, Keith Gough, Rachel Brown and Mike Lang.
The club plans to meet every Thursday night in the BAY Centre at 7pm and newcomers are welcome, regardless of their photographic abilities.
A monthly photo competition is likely to be held, along with the awarding of a yearly cup for the best photo throughout the year. Once the club is established, a junior section is also to be launched, which will fulfil the ‘use for youth’ requirement of the BAY Centre.
