Middle East tension sends petrol prices above £1 a litre in Highbridge

Petrol prices in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have increased this week as tensions in the Middle East rise have sent oil prices spiralling.

The cost of oil has been going up steadily over the last few weeks as the situation in Iraq and the Middle East generally deteriorates.

As energy experts warned on Wednesday (July 19th) that the £1 a litre barrier for unleaded petrol could be breached by the end of the summer, that breach has come already in Highbridge.

But while the Texaco station is advertising the high price, it is still possible to find lower cost fuel locally, as shown in our table below.
