Burnham-On-Sea will soon have its very own perfume fragrance — which the makers say will reflect some of the town’s attractive seaside smells.
The £15 perfume is to be unveiled in time for the summer tourist season and will feature a blend of essences including fresh sea air from the Bristol Channel, seaweed and sand dune grasses.
Experts who have created the unique scent have even added a faint hint of traditional seaside fish and chips to give it further authenticity.
Sally Marks, a frequent holidaymaker and visitor to Burnham over the past 30 years, helped pick and test the aroma.
She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This superb scent brings me back to Burnham whenever I want. Many frequent visitors have a real attachment to the town and a whiff of this perfume provides a great reminder of the seaside holiday fun we have had there over the years.”
A local tourism representrative said: “We’re delighted that holidaymakers will soon be able to carry the smell of Burnham around with them and hope that it could increase the number of visitors over time.”
