Berrow runner takes on Paris Marathon in aid of local charity

A man from Berrow and two friends will be taking part in the Paris marathon this weekend in aid of a local charity.

Rob Kilduff, 36, of Penmoor Road in Berrow, will be running along the Champs-Elysées on his first marathon with friends Stu Walker and Will Denyer to support Weston Hospicecare.

By taking part in the Marathon de Paris on Sunday 15th April, the three friends hope to raise more than £3,000.

Rob told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Having been friends with Stu and Will for over three years and knowing that they are keen runners like myself, we decided that it would be a good idea to run a marathon together and the Paris one seemed ideal because you can just pay to enter, unlike London’s selection process.”

“When Will asked me if it would be OK to run in aid of Weston Hospicecare I said it would be my pleasure as I know his wife Caroline is a patient there and is suffering from cancer.”

“Also, a relative of mine was cared for there a few years ago. Having run for charity before, but never a marathon, it is nice to be able to raise money that will directly help Caroline, Will and their two boys.”

Will’s wife, Caroline, was diagnosed with breast cancer and she has received several advbice sessions at the Hospice, until a couple of months ago, Will had never had any dealings with the charity.
