Preview: Jack and The Beanstalk opens in Burnham-On-Sea

The classic show – which is full of comedy, song and audience participation – is being peformed at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre and runs until Saturday 2nd February.

Director Lorna Blair told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The rehearsals have been going really well. We have a brilliant team again this year and it will be a great show. Tickets have been selling well – so well, in fact, that the matinees are sold out!”

Shows will be held on Friday 25th January at 7pm, Sat 26th Jan at 3:30pm, Sun 27th Jan at 3:30pm, Tues 29th Jan at 7pm, Wed 30th Jan at 7pm, Thurs 31st Jan at 7pm, Fri 1st Feb at 7pm and Sat 2nd Feb at 7pm.

The principal roles are Dame Trott (Melvyn Shephard), Idle Jack (Lisa Davis), Dozy Den (Rob Blackmore), Fairy Beansprout (Phoebe Harling), King (Joe Tohill), Princess Rose (Emma Nicholson), Prime Minister (Alastair Murray), Poison Ivy (Emma Twigg), Giant Blunderbore (Frank Neill), Giant’s Housekeeper (Mo Cooper) and Buttercup the Cow (Em Burland and Yanika Johnson).

The junior chorus comprises Louisa Arthur, Daisy-Mae Marks, Elena Mitchell, Frejya Buttery, Eleni Markoutsas while the senior chorus features Pam Date, Val Holmes, Frank Neill, Katie Shephard, Molly Kempton, Harvey Nicholls, Zoe Nicholson, Emily Elswood, Shannom Manlow, Lorna Davey, Harley Shadbolt, Owen Twigg, Georgia Twigg, Luke Harrington, Archie Williams and Gabbie Blair. The Pantomime Dancers are Collete Adams, Paige Downie, Loren Wintle, Beth Criddle and Gemma Durham.

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £8 for concessions, £6 for children and £25 for Family tickets £25 (2 adults, 2 children). Family tickets are not available for matinees. Tickets are on sale at The Princess Theatre on 01278 784464.
