An afternoon of ‘flipping’ good fun was enjoyed at a special Shrove Tuesday event in Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens on Tuesday (February 21st).
The Friends of Marine Cove organised a pancake flipping competition to raise money for two good causes.
Burnham and Highbridge’s Mayor Michael Clarke and county councillor John Woodman were among the audience supporting the event, as pictured here.
“It was a really nice, traditional event that was enjoyed by everyone and I hope it grows in future years,” the Mayor told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The winner, Izaak, managed 40 flips in a minute with Lily the Frog. All the participants were presented with a medal.
Participants were encouraged to get sponsored for the number of flips they could complete in a minute and the £30 raised will be split between the Friends of Marine Cove and BIARS (Burnham Information and Rescue Support).
