Residents in Burnham-On-Sea have chosen illegal cycling on pavements and anti-social behaviour as the top two priorities for police in the town to tackle over the next three months.
20 residents attended the latest quarterly Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting, held on Thursday evening (May 5th) in Burnham’s Rosewood Communal Hall in Rosewood Close, where they were given the chance to influence what issues are tackled in the town.
Residents voted on which issues should be adressed as the top priorities – and among those put forward were anti-social behaviour, dog fouling, mobile phone mis-use by motorists, pavement cycling and overgrown hedgerows obstructing roundabouts.
A vote was taken when tackling anti-social behaviour on the Rosewood Estate and illegal cycling on pavements were the top two.
Sgt Ian Kennett from Burnham Police, Dog warden Tina Kick and members of Burnham’s Neighbourhood Watch also gave updates on the progress in tackling the priorities set at the previous meeting earlier in the year – skate boarding on the South Esplanade and dog fouling.
