Drug dealing and illegal parking have this week been chosen by Highbridge residents as the top two priorities for police to tackle in the town over the next three months.
20 residents attended this week’s quarterly police community meeting in Highbridge’s St John Ambulance Hall, as pictured above, where those present discussed which issues should be treated as ‘public enemy number one’ by police.
They raised a number of concerns including cold calling, fly tipping, safety at the Highbridge Hotel, dog fouling, littering, illegal motorbike use and general anti-social behaviour.
But, after a vote was taken, drug dealing in the town centre and car parking issues along Church Street, Grange Avenue and Market Street were picked as the top two.
Sgt Ian Kennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We very much appreciate the involvement of those who attended and will be tackling these two issues as priorities. Drug dealing has a big impact on communities and it is in everyone’s interests to see it removed.”
The Burnham-On-Sea community police meeting will be held at 7pm on Thursday August 4th at Burnham Community Centre in Berrow Road.
