Two pedestrians injured after car crashes into them in Burnham

Two people were injured when a car crashed into them in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea this afternoon (Friday, April 17th).

Emergency services were called to Oxford Street near the junction with College Street after the tea-time collision.

Police spokesman Scott McPherson confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called shortly before 3.30pm today to reports of an collision in Oxford Street.”

“A car was in collision with two pedestrians before colliding with a street bench.”

“The injured parties have been taken to Musgrove Park Hospital. They are not thought to have life threatening or life-changing injuries.”

The road was temporarily closed while police were at the scene, causing queues of traffic in the surrounding area.
