Staff and visitors at Burnham-On-Sea’s Priory Court Care Home enjoyed a fantastic Easter Fair, welcoming over 100 people.
The popular event at the home in Burnham’s Oxford Street raised £500 for the residents’ Comfort Fund, which goes towards extra day trips and outings.
The fair was opened by Mayor and Mayoress of Burnham-On-Sea, Cllr Bill Hancock and Mayoress Frances, with the help of the town crier Alastair Murray.
A spokeswoman said: “Residents at Priory Court Care & Nursing Home were joined by their family members, friends, staff and local people for a wonderful afternoon.”
“Raffle prizes were donated by local businesses Café Aroma, Super Chips and Pattie & Franks, and Gardiner Whites. Volunteers and staff members ran stalls and donated prizes including Natalie Butler who ran the tombola, Sandra on the cake stall and Ty Harris who sang beautifully and performed for everyone.”
“A highlight was putting the staff in the stocks to receive a soaking, Julie, Greg and Vicki who all bravely volunteered and were duly soaked by the Mayor!”
