A free online workshop featuring help and advice on mental health issues for teenagers and parents is to be held for King Alfred School Academy parents and staff on Monday 20th April.
Run by L&F Training, the workshop will be held from 6-7pm and will focus on general mental health, anxiety, depression, signs of issues, and how to help yourself and teenagers.
L&F’s Gillian Dewsbury said: “We are pleased to be holding this timely workshop which is specifically at helping local parents and teachers during this challenging time.”
“This is a great opportunity to share experiences and hopefully pick up some useful tips and support.”
Suzanne Lawrence, student welfare manager and safeguarding lead at the school, said: “Safeguarding/pastoral and all staff at schools are very aware of how difficult the current situation can be for many families and individuals.”
“Mrs Woods, our mental health co-ordinator, was very keen this workshop should still be offered as were Gillian Dewsbury and Sarah Miller, external providers who Mrs Woods has been working closely with. As a parent and staff member I am looking forward to attending and we are very grateful for the extra work that has taken place to make this happen.”
