A large convenience store is set to open in the centre of Highbridge in the next few days, providing the town with a welcome boost.
Final interior work is underway to allow the One Stop store in Market Street, near the town’s Community Hall, to open.
A spokesman said the shop, pictured, would sell a wide range of household products and be open from 6am to 11pm each day.
Highbridge and Burnham Mayor Eric Gill welcomed the addition of a new business in the town.
“Highbridge definitely needs more shops. There is a great deal of domestic accommodation along the streets where there used to be businesses,” he said. “I do hope it’s another step forward in revival of the town.”
