The Somerset Paddies will be entertaining the crowds at a fundraising Irish night near Burnham-On-Sea this Saturday (July 20th).
Highbridge’s Oaktree Arena will be hosting the fun event from 7pm to raise cash for a new air fence at the speedway track.
“The Somerset Paddies booked are always great at getting the crowd going. We will also have various Irish themed drinks promotions during the evening,” organiser Jordan Jones told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The Somerset Paddies perform a unique blend of Somerset and Irish songs. They sing the songs of the late Adge Cutler, The Wurzels, Brendan Shine, The Pogues, Dubliners and lots more with loads of audience participation.
The Oaktree is trying to raise £30,000 to buy a new air fence which will allow it stage some of speedway’s larger events, such as the World Cup and Grand Prix Qualifiers, which would attract large crowds from all over Europe.
Tickets will cost £5, including a basket meal, and can be purchased from the team at The Oaktree by either popping in or calling 01278 782216.
