The number of confirmed Covid cases increased in each of Somerset’s districts during last week, according to new official figures.
The Government’s Covid data figures show West Somerset and Taunton, Sedgemoor, South Somerset, Mendip, and Bath & North East Somerset had increases in the number of positive coronavirus tests last week compared to the previous seven days.
12 people sadly died within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test last week in Somerset.
In Sedgemoor, which includes the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area, 801 people had a confirmed positive test result between October 11th and October 17th, an increase of 141.3% compared to the previous seven days.
139 people had a confirmed positive test result reported on Sunday.
