‘Not in My Neighbourhood’ campaign against anti-social behaviour

-

Magistrates, councillors and police officers from across the Burnham-On-Sea area have taken part in a national campaign this week to raise awareness of issues such as anti-social behaviour, speeding and littering.

They held a ‘Not In My Neighbourhood Week’ event in Highbridge on Tuesday (November 3rd) to promote how the police and public services are working together, alongside residents, to keep local communities safe.

Not in My Neighbourhood Week, which is now in its third year, is organised by the Home Office and runs from November 2nd to November 6th.

Tuesday’s event was held outside Highbridge’s Asda supermarket and attracted dozens of local residents. “We had a steady stream of residents visiting us throughout the day,” organiser Jane Bailey told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“In addition to Burnham and Highbridge PCSOs, we had local magistrates, Age Concern, Sedgemoor’s property team and the community safety team, plus members of the Highbridge Local Action Team on site to answer questions and explain their roles.”
