This eye-catching image of a violinist has earned a well-known Burnham-On-Sea photographer a top award in a prestigious national competition.
Nick Tolley has won a sought-after gold award in The Society of Portrait and Wedding Photographers’ print competition.
“The winners of the gold awards have their entries automatically put into the society’s Photographic Convention, a seven day event for professional photographers in London,” Nick told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week.
Photos displayed at the event will be among international entries and judging will be performed by a panel of experts before the overall winners are announced.
“I’m keeping my fingers crossed to go one step further,” added Nick. “I was so pleased to be given such a high award for my work and my thanks must also go to Laura, the girl in the picture, who came to me to update her portfolio.”
“The total concept of the ‘shot’ was my creation and not only did I design the outfit, etc, but I also renovated and painted the violin that was used. I very rarely enter my work into competitions so this has encouraged me to submit other entries and hopefully gain more awards in the future.”
The final production print is in the window of Nick’s studio in Abingdon Street.
