A new Somerset Emotional Wellbeing podcast has been launched this week to support local people with their mental and emotional wellbeing throughout the current Coronavirus pandemic.
The podcast features Dr Andrew Tresidder, NHS Somerset’s GP Safety Lead, pictured, discussing a range of topics surrounding mental health and wellbeing, alongside a variety of guest speakers.
NHS Somerset says it hopes that the free ‘Somerset Emotional Wellbeing podcast’ will help to benefit the people of Somerset (and beyond) during these challenging times, by offering advice from medical professionals.
The first episode, called ‘Coping with Loss and Grief’, features Dr. Peter Bagshaw, Minehead, GP and Clinical Lead for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities for Somerset CCG, in the hot seat. Dr. Tressider and Dr. Bagshaw discuss how to cope with loss and grief during these unprecedented times.
Dr Tresidder says: “Both my guests and myself will use our clinical knowledge and experience as medical professionals and own life experiences to bring you coping strategies and clinical insights to help you reframe your own thoughts and feelings.”
“Listening to our podcast is a fantastic way to spend half an hour of your day and I hope you will find the topics discussed to be informative, interesting and helpful, especially during this challenging time we find ourselves in.”
A new episode of the Somerset Emotional Wellbeing podcast will be going live every two weeks throughout the lockdown and beyond, featuring a variety of guest hosts alongside Dr. Tressider. The second episode, ‘Dealing with Anxiety’, will be live to listen to from Tuesday 2 June 2020.
The Somerset Emotional Wellbeing podcast is now available for free through Spotify, Apple podcasts and all other podcast apps. Please like and subscribe to receive new episodes directly the moment they are available.
