New life-saving defibrillator installed outside Burnham-On-Sea theatre with support of Tesco

A new life-saving defibrillator has been installed outside Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre with the support of a local supermarket and its shoppers.

The new equipment, costing £2,700, has been donated by Tesco’s Burnham store from the sale of books.

The defibrillator has been installed outside the main entrance to the theatre in Princess Street, pictured here.

“We all hope that this equipment is never needed, but it is very reassuring to know it’s there and we thank Tesco and its customers for their very kind support,” says Burnham’s Mayor, Cllr Lesley Millard.

The new equipment has been unveiled by Roz Benney, community champion at Burnham’s Tesco store, alongside the Mayor and theatre volunteer Tim Champ.

Roz says Tesco is happy to give its backing to the project and thanked customers who have bought books at the store to raise the funds.
