Building work is underway on a new Co-Op store in Highbridge on the corner of Morland Road and Burnham Road.
The supermarket giant had initially planned to open its new convenience store in ‘summer 2018’, and advertising boards at the site confirmed this.
But building work was delayed while the store applied for planning permission for early morning deliveries.
The new Highbridge Co-Op will be similar in size to the Co-Op store in Berrow which opened in 2017, pictured below. It will have 15 parking spaces.
The land was previously occupied by the former Morlands Industrial Park, which shut in October 2014.
Highbridge’s main Co-Op supermarket, just off Market Street, shut down in October 2018 and it has since been replaced by Proper Job.
