A newly-formed Diabetes support group is set to hold a meeting in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday 1st June.
Burnham and District Lions Club, with support from Diabetes UK and local GP surgeries, has launched the new support group.
The latest meeting of the Diabetes Support Group will be held at Burnham Baptist Church Hall between 10am and 12 noon.
“The emphasis this month will be on how good Diet and weight control is important and beneficial to Diabetics,” says Group Chairman Phil Cooke.
Phil, who is a type 2 diabetic, joined a local weight loss group in January this year which he says has helped him to lose two stone in weight and a significant reduction in his diabetes medication.
In conjunction with the drop-in there will be a mini craft fayre to raise funds for the group. Everyone is welcome – pop in for a coffee and a chat.
