A new convenience store has opened for business in Burnham-On-Sea town centre this week.
VJ Stores opened its doors at 33 The High Street on Wednesday (April 9th) and is a ‘Family Shopper’ franchise outlet.
Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, owner Vigitharan Eeswarakumaran said: “We are delighted to have opened the new shop here in Burnham, which is our second shop along with one in Yeovil. We wanted to expand into the Burnham area so this is an ideal location in the town centre.”
“We have a wide range of great value convenience items, from food and drink, and the store is initially open from 9am-6pm on Mondays to Saturdays, and 10am-6pm on Sundays,” he says.
Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here in January that a licensing application for the new store had been supported by the Town Council and was also approved by Somerset Council.
The application includes the sale of alcohol and the application noted that 10 CCTV cameras will be in use around the store for security. The store replaces the former #33 gift shop.
